These dogs have been kennel dogs and need a person who has the patience to deal with their shyness. The new caretaker has quickly won his heart and Eyak waits patiently for his turn to be brushed.
Eyak (& Etah) Update:
My perfect home would be for them to stay together, fenced property, stay at home caretaker who is willing to give them both the loving care they deserve. Someone with patience. They both have come a long way since coming here... We have spent countless hours with them every day from morning till night.
Etah likes to be with her brother and is very submissive to any rough play or a dog barking at her. Her feelings get hurt easy, but she is very affectionate and gives us chin licks all the time now, she can't get enough attention. She loves to lean on me and be talked to and petted. She shows no aggression.
They both have gotten into get shape running around and now are out of their kennels all day and in only at night or if we go out. Eyak is very smart and learns quick. He loves brushing, plays with a kong on a rope and likes attention also. Eyak has showed no aggression either. They both donot bark at other dogs or horses going by, they like meeting new people...wagging their tails.

Given that it is impossible to predict with complete accuracy how any dog will react in a given situation, especially without complete knowledge of its life experiences. The AMHL urges the adopter to exercis e caution in introducing the dog to new situations until the dog has become fully adjusted to its new environment, and the adopter has had an opportunity to become familiar with the dog's unique personality. All contractual obligations concerning this dog will be between the shelter and the adopter.
