Updated Oct 2011: Stewy's name has been changed to Winter. Courtesy Posting for Winter Contact: Pup Wellness Retreat zoe@pupwellness.com Winter is a handsome 6 year old Alaskan malamute currently living at the Pup Wellness Retreat. He came to us from the SPCA in the Northwest Territories where he had been living for 17 months after being found a stray. He is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccines and has no history of serious health or behaviour issues. Winter is blind in one eye but is otherwise in perfect health. He is a relaxed guy who dreams of a life with a home of his own, daily leash walks and a cozy place to sleep. He knows how to SIT, WAIT, is clean inside and is good on leash. Winter loves walking, being brushed, eating and singing! Winter gets along well with other dogs, although can be intimidated by intact male dogs. His best friend at the Pup Wellness Retreat is a 3 year old female Malamute, Savvy, who is also available for adoption. Winter is excitable around cats but the Pup Team is working with him daily, around our 7 barn cats, and he is making excellent progress. Winter adores all people and is eager to meet everyone he can. The Alaskan Malamute is a strong primitive breed originally used for pulling heavy sledges. They are exceptionally loyal family dogs and while physically impressive they are NOT guard dogs. Malamutes require regular grooming to keep their coats in good condition. Winter would thrive in the home of a moderately experienced owner who is willing to be positive, consistent and clear with him every day. He loves to be outside and would be well-suited to having an outdoor space to call his own. Winter is an easy-going guy who really wants a simple life of love, exercise and a dog bed to call his own. Pup (pupwellness.com) offers discounts on training, boarding, nutrition and walking services to all of our dogs forever homes (provided they are in our working area). All interested families will be screened and are required to provide vet and character references. Winters adoption fee is $250.00. Any donation made above that, will be sincerely appreciated and, will help us rescue the next dog in need. For more information on our handsome Winter, please contact Zoe Quinn-Phillips, CPDT at zoe@pupwellness.com. Serious enquiries only please. Contact: Pup Wellness Retreat zoe@pupwellness.com |
