Bud is a 13 y/o Malamute-Rough Collie mix who was abandoned alone in a backyard in the Spring of 2007. His previous owners moved away leaving him to fend for himself. The landlord found him in the yard some time later and took him to the Salmon Arm SPCA. Bud being quite elderly, lacking some manners and having geriatric medical issues made him not adoptable in a shelter situation.

Bud now lives with Beverly Badke in Merville BC with some of the other geriatric permanent foster Malamutes. Bud came into rescue severely underweight and with several medical concerns. He has degenerative disk disease and is partially paralyzed in his rear end. He has an ulcerated tumour in his front right paw and several masses on his rear left leg & hip.

He still quite enjoys his days and gets around just fine albeit slow. Bud loves to play with balls and to have a short lounge in the grass each day. He is being treated medically with pain control only as it would be inappropriate at his age to provide anything other than palliative care. Bud will stay living with Beverly for whatever quality time he has left in this life. He thanks the supporters of the long term foster program for allowing us to provide a loving home to the geriatric fur-kids nearing end of life.

For information about Bud you can contact Beverly Badke at malamutes@telus.net or call 250-337-5804 only between the hours of Noon to 8:00 pm, Pacific time please.
