Seymour is a handsome 10 year old, 90 pound, neutered male Malamute who is looking for a new home. He was adopted out by the AMHL in 2002 to a family with kids and now that the kids have grown up, there is little time for Seymour. Seymour is house trained. He is an active 10 year old and needs to be given more attention than he is currently receiving. As a 10 year old, Seymour's favorite activities are going for a walk and being with his family. Although he is okay with submissive females, he does not care for other male dogs. His new home should be one where he is either the only dog or has an easy going girl. He is a very typical Malamute as far as prey drive goes and requires a home without cats or small furry animals. Seymour does require a securely fenced yard as he would take advantage of an easy escape opportunity should there be one in his new home. However, a good exercise routine, along with family time would deter his desire to wonder. Seymour is very social with people of all ages, but would be best in a family with kids who are at least in their pre-teens due to his size. He has calm and friendly nature. Seymour needs a home where he is part of the family and included in daily activities. If you are interested in providing Seymour with the love and attention he is looking for, please complete an Application to Adopt a Malamute from AMHL at: http://www.malamuterescue.com/rescuedb/app/adoptapp.php If you have any questions about this handsome boy or are able to provide Seymour with a foster home through the adoption process, please contact Judy at: Judy@malamuterescue.com |

Given that it is impossible to predict with complete accuracy how any dog will react in a given situation, without completeknowledge of its life experiences, the AMHL urges the adopter to exercise caution in introducing the dog tonew situations until the dog has become fully adjusted to its new environment and the adopter has had an opportunity to become familiar with the dog's unique personality. |
